Welcome!
Dear YPSO Family, Friends, and Community,
There are so many things to be grateful for! The fact that our students and Maestro Ramadanoff have been able to play in-person music together is a joyous and uplifting start to our 2021-22 season.
While this is a message of welcome, I’d like to welcome you all “back” to live music, to this beautiful venue at First Congregational Church of Berkeley, and to each other - for being able to gather and listen to music as a community.
We have a wonderful season lined up this year, starting with Dvorak’s Carnival Overture and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. We will also get to hear the long-awaited performances from two of our Concerto Competition winners from the 2019-20 season, when Shelter-in-Place postponed that opportunity.
Emerging from the shutdown, and merging their talents together, the music that our students create is absolutely breath-taking. Every week I hear them in rehearsal, it is inspiring to see what they can achieve, and to imagine what they will continue to achieve as a future generation of leaders.
Thank you for coming tonight to support them!
