YPSO tours regularly to expand both the musical and cultural horizons of the students.

In the summer of 2024, the group visited Japan. Highlights of this trip include:

A concert in the Fenice Sacay (in our sister city Sakai) and
Two concerts in Tokyo- Itabashi Cultural Center and the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre. Japanese youth music groups joined us onstage for each concert and we collaborated on a piece with a Japanese choir
Visits to sister city schools in Sakai with chamber music performances and cultural exchange
Tours of Kyoto, Tokyo, the Atomic Bomb Museum and Peace Shrine in Hiroshima and the Music Instrument Museum in Hamamatsu
The bullet train
and of course, the Japanese cuisine!
