OVerview of Student-Led Fundraising
At YPSO, we have a few different types of fundraising. Student-led fundraising is one kind, and it is the most impactful kind, as it is the students and families themselves who reach out and share their stories and experiences of orchestra, and in turn ask for folks to give back to a program that they enjoy!
The money that is raised from these activities goes directly to support the students and the music program. For example,
raising $10,000 collectively helps support 5 students for full-ride scholarships at YPSO
raising $2,500 helps cover the cost of renting a performance space for one of our concerts
raising $**** helps pay for the professional level music coaching for one concert set
Currently, we run 3 student-led fundraising activities per season. Scroll down to learn more about each.
Practice-a-thon - DONe!
Nov 2022
An annual fall event where students log their hours of music practice and find sponsors to support them in their endeavours.
See’s Candy - Currently LIve!
Feb-Mar 2023
An annual fundraiser held in the early months of the year. Students and families help sell See’s Candy to their network of friends, collegues, and relatives. YPSO students get support, and others get candy! it’s a win-win for all!
Our goal is to raise $5000, and that amounts to 10 boxes of candy sold per family.
Silent Auction - Procurement Stage
May 1-May 14 2023
Our biggest event of the season outside of the concerts - which are the main event of course!
We ask each family to donate an item/service to the auction, and to help spread the word and get your friends and family network involved in bidding and winning some fun auction prizes.
Our goal is to raise $10,000.
